25th Anniversary 928 Frenzy
Adelaide - Birdwood
After photos, speeches, coffee and cake kindly supplied by
Chateau's we briskly took off up the South Eastern Freeway.
With three sharks abreast the pack covered
almost the entire freeway (I'm still waiting to see the photos
and video of that unique photo-op) until the turn off to 'Eagle
on the Hill'. We then headed off along the beautiful and curvaceous
back roads of the Mount Lofty Ranges to Birdwood Mill, the home
of the National Motor Museum.
The SA crew took off enmasse and the group
soon split up, so the interstaters continued along in their own
small pack .. up until we closed in on the 'Bermuda Triangle' of
the hills (and coincidentally the neighbourhood of Chateau's
very own parts manager Cory.
Just as Rudy applied power out of yet another
joyous corner his shark's engine came to an abrupt halt. With no
power he managed to coast up the hill to a safe stop with the
rest of the pack pulling in behind him.
Two words; Fuel Pump .. no, make that three
words, Dead Fuel Pump!
